Apart from that, every claim requires a source, whether the reader can personally check it or not. So I create my slides in LaTeX, convert the single pdf-pages into png-files and use them pictures as fullscreen pictures in a PowerPoint presentation. Another important function of references is to distinguish own contributions from prior art, and to acknowledge it. I recently had to persuade a fellow student that you can create beautiful presentations with LaTeX and beamer. However, I've never used this one myself so I can't say anything about it that isn't mentioned in the package documentation. Pecha Kucha is a form of presentation with strict rules: you have 20 slides and every slide appears for exact 20 seconds. (Although it can be used in normal documents as well, independently from the rest of Beamer) The canonical reference on how to use the multimedia package is the Beamer user's guide, section 14.1, but basically it boils down to using the command \movieĪnd it seems to offer some of the same main features as Beamer's multimedia. I'm personally only familiar with doing this in Beamer, which uses the multimedia package, distributed as part of Beamer itself.
